The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a prestigious scholarship designed to attract talented students from around the world to pursue a PhD in Singapore. Scholarship Benefits

  • Full Tuition Fees: Monthly stipend of S$2,700 which will be increased to S$3,200 after the passing of the Qualifying Examination* One-time airfare grant of up to S$1,500 One-time settling-in allowance of S$1,000. Update the grant amount please
  • Monthly Stipend: A monthly stipend of SGD 2,200 during the first year, which increases to SGD 2,700 after passing the Qualifying Examination.
  • One-Time Travel Grant: o SGD 1,500 for airfare to Singapore.
  • Settling-In Allowance: o A one-time allowance of SGD 1,000 to help with initial expenses.
  • Research Environment: o Access to cutting-edge research facilities and collaboration with leading scientists in Singapore

Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Background: o Strong academic performance in undergraduate and/or master’s studies, particularly in science and engineering disciplines.
  • Research Interest: o Demonstrated passion for research in areas such as biomedical sciences, physical sciences, or engineering. o Undergraduate Applicants: Must be at least 17 years old and under 25 as of April 1 of the application year.
  • Nationality: o Open to all international students
    o Graduate applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Language Proficiency: o Proficiency in English is required. While specific language tests (TOEFL, IELTS) may not be mandatory, applicants should ensure they can demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Other Requirements: o Applicants should not currently be residing in Singapore.
