Intra-company visas: -
An intra-company visa permits you to enter and stay in the UK to carry out the appropriate jobs and work at your owner’s employer’s UK branch. In case you and your family are not citizens of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein then you must need an intra-company visa for the UK.
Types of intra-company visas: -
UK government has divided into two types of intra-company visas.
Intra-company transfer visa
Intra-company graduate trainee visa
1. Intra-company transfer visa: -
If your company owner transfers and assigns you any role in the UK, then you must apply for this Visa. The foremost condition is you will have to work for your employer for more than 12 months, otherwise, the company owner must pay you £ 73900 per year or more in the UK. For the long-term, intra-company transfer visa has switched (tier 2) with long-term staff visa.
2. Intra-company graduate trainee visa: -
The government has introduced the graduate trainee program and issued the intra-company graduate trainee visa for managerial and specialist roles, But the condition for this visa is you must work for your owner for at least 3 months without delay then apply for this visa. Intra-company transfer visa has switched (tier 2) with intra-company graduate trainee visa.
Eligibility: -
For intra-company visa eligibility criteria
- You must be the part of the current employee of the company and the company must be approved by the home office of the UK as a sponsor.
- You must have a sponsorship certificate from your owner In the UK and write the role you are offered in the UK.
- Your job must be on the list of qualified professions
- You have paid in case of intra-company transfer visa £ 41500, for an intra-company graduate trainee visa £23000 as salary
- Other eligibility and requirements may vary with your job
Duration of stay: -
Your stay in the UK depends on the visa type that you are going to apply for and how long your employer is sponsoring you in the UK.
Application for intra-company transfer visa: -
You can live in the UK with an intra-company transfer visa which is shorter:
- Time mentioned on your sponsorship certificate added 14 days
- Five years
- The duration that brings you to the maximum total stay approved.
The Maximum total stay approved under intra-company visa transfer is
- If you are paid less than £73900 per year, Five years in any six-year time (period).
- If you are paid £73,900 per year or more than nine years in any ten-year period.
You can expand your visa, apply for another one up to maximum total stay. If you are already in the UK on an intra-company visa prior to applying, that duration will be counted in your total stay in the UK.
Application for intra-company graduate trainee visa: -
You can live in the UK under an intra-company graduate trainee visa which is shorter:
- Time mentioned on your sponsorship certificate added 14 days
- 12 months
- The duration that brings you to the maximum total stay approved.
You are allowed to expand your visa, but you must apply for another intra-company graduate trainee visa from out of the UK. You must work for your employer while living outside the UK for at least 3 months instantly before the application date.
Total stay approved under the intra-company graduate trainee visa is five years in six years’ time. The time will be incorporated into your total stay period in the UK if you are already in the UK before going to apply for the visa.
Application Process: -
The application must be online. The application process depends on the living status of a person:
- If you are out of the UK land and planning to come to the UK
- If you are within UK boundaries and planning to extend your existing visa
- If you are within UK boundaries and want to change the visa type
If your spouse and your children are eligible for Visa, you can also mention it in your application for a stay in the UK.
Cost of the application: -
You, your spouse, and your children must need to:
- Pay the Application fee standard fee varies from £610 to £1408.
- Give each year of stay healthcare surcharges, these charges normally are £624 per year.
- Prove certificate, you have enough personal saving.
The time frame for Visa: -
you must submit your application for a Visa 3 months earlier, the day you are going to start your work in the UK. The date to start your work is mentioned on your sponsorship certificate. For submission of the Application, your identity and valid documents are the necessary requirements. You are allowed to take extra time in this process if you need an appointment. Decision Time: -
If you have applied online, provided your identity and documents, you will normally obtain a decision on your Visa application within 3 weeks if you are in the territory of the UK. The decision duration depends on your location whether you are in the UK or outside the UK. The faster decision will come out if you need to go to an appointment.
Do’s and Don'ts: -
For an intra-company visa:
- you must do the job mentioned in your sponsorship certificate
- Study (Education)
- If you are eligible, allow bringing your partner and children with you and your dependents
- You can also do a job up to 20 hours in a week, you may select the work from the skilled worker shortage occupation list or the same profession you already do a job at the same level.
- Carry out voluntary work
